We’re always on the lookout for talented individuals to join the Smith Brothers team! And alongside the usual fitting, jointing and engineering roles we recruit for on an ongoing basis, we’re currently searching for a couple of new electrical project managers to join our ranks.

You will additionally assist with contract negotiations, critical path analyses and risk assessments along with the financial management of the projects you’re responsible for.

In addition to these duties, you’ll oversee the design process in accordance with Smith Brothers’ procedures and create, maintain and keep up to date a programme of works as assignments develop. You’ll also award sub-contracts under supervision from senior project managers, along with allocating company resources and labour where required.

Skills

Collaboration with the rest of the project management team is essential to ensure that processes are standardised and that all assignments are carried out competently, safely and in line with customer expectations. Leadership skills are also crucial, as your role will entail coordinating site managers where required to keep projects on time and within budget. You’ll also have great attention to detail and the ability to compile comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals in line with customer, DNO and Smith Brothers’ policies.

Excellent communication skills and a personable manner are vital, as you’ll be attending meetings with clients, DNO representatives and other third-party bodies. You should additionally be extremely organised as you will be tasked with scheduling internal and external meetings alongside ensuring your portfolio of projects stays on track.

Location

These roles are predominantly based at our Elland office on Lowfield Business Park, but you’ll also be on-site when required and out and about meeting clients too.

We’re a friendly bunch so if you’re interested in joining the team and think you have what it takes to be our new electrical project manager, let us know! Contact Ana via email or give her a call on 0333 3583 653.
